Demonstrator: Andrea Naft
For our May meeting, AWC member Andrea Naft will be giving a presentation about journal sketching in pen-and-ink and watercolor. Andrea will show you how to create a Journal to artistically express your love of travel, family adventures, gardening, birding, food experiences. Journals help you to hone your drawing skills and create muscle memory for particular subjects. You can use it to prepare you to do a painting if you wish. Instead of a photo, give yourself a tangible item which will help you relive those special sights, sounds, smells and atmosphere of a special time and place. Andrea has her journals from the past 50 years!
This will be followed later in the month (May 19) by a paint-out in Ellicott City, so we can put Andrea's demonstration to practice!
6:30 - 7 pm: Members' Painting Salon
Since Andrea is doing the demo this month, Connie Robinson will host salon. Remember to send in your recent artwork to Connie. Note TITLE and SIZE. Back story about painting to share is appreciated.
If you want to ask for opinions, the members can leave their critiques in the chat room, which will be recorded and emailed to the artists who participated in the Art Salon.
