Golden Anniversary Exhibit at Quiet Waters Park

2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Annapolis Watercolor Club.  Our long-anticipated exhibit at the Quiet Waters Park will be the highlight of a series of exhibits in celebration of this anniversary.

Exhibit Dates:  May 21 - July 16, 2025

Reception:  Sunday, May 25, 1:30-3:30PM

Awards Judge:  TBA

The Galleries at Quiet Waters is a large space and comfortably holds 80 paintings.  This exhibit will be open to non-AWC guest artists as well as AWC members.  There will be a juror who will select first, second, and third place award recipients for members and for non-members.

All paintings must have gold (either paint or metallic leaf or other golden color).

   Information for Exhibitors   


Registration:  Opens April 1 for both AWC members and for non-member guest artists; deadline for entry will be April 21 or when the maximum total number of 80 paintings has been entered.

Entry fee:  $15.00 per painting; two paintings may be submitted by each AWC member artist until the maximum of 55 paintings have been reached, and one painting by each guest artist until the maximum of 25 paintings has been reached.

 There is a 25% commission on all sales.

Receiving: Tuesday, May 20 (time to be announced)

Pick-up: Sunday, July 6, 2:00-4:00 PM

Subject matter:  All paintings must have gold (either paint or metallic leaf or other golden color).

Exhibit Standards, Honor statement and Waiver:   The AWC Exhibit Standards have been updated.  Please review before registering. You can view and download a PDF of the standards here.  You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and understand the standards and the Exhibit Honor Statement and Waiver.  That document can be viewed and downloaded here.

In addition to the General Requirements in section 4 of the AWC Exhibit Standards, the following apply:

6b. Accepted Artwork: All work must be totally original, created by the artist.

6c. Media: Works must be watermedia paintings (i.e., watercolor, gouache, acrylic, egg tempera, casein, and ink) on natural or synthetic paper or paperboard; paper canvas, fabric (e.g., cotton or linen) canvas, Aquaboard, Clayboard or Gessoboard. No pastels or water-soluble oils. Collage elements are permitted, but must be primarily original watermedia work.

6d. Permitted: Artwork resulting from guidance, photos, drawings or paintings used in workshop or classes must have proper credit given to the source to be specified after the “title” on the identification label and on the application form, i.e.: “photo from John Doe workshop”, or “from guidance in Jane Doe’s Class”.
